6th founders day
of Advanced Eye Centre celebrated on 18.03.2012
The
6th Founders Day was celebrated at the Advanced Eye Centre, PGI, Chandigarh on
18.3.2012. On this occasion, a Continuing Medical Education Programme in
Ophthalmology was organized at the Centre. Prof Yogesh Chawla, Director,
PGI, was the chief guest at the Founders’ Day annual function.. Prof Amod
Gupta outlined the achievements and activities of the department during the
last year. Prof Yogesh Chawla appreciated the work done at the centre during
the last few years and assured all possible help to the department in the near
future.
Prof
Yogesh Chawla reiterated that the Advanced Eye Centre had now set a benchmark
in standards of ophthalmic care in the country and is a role model for the
efficient patient care. He congratulated Prof Amod Gupta and his team on the
commendable work done in areas of patient care and research.
On
this occasion, appreciation awards were given for meritorious work to Sister
Daljit Kaur, Ms Subhash Parwana and Mr Raj Kumar.
Dr Nam
Perumalsamy, Chairman Emeritus, Aravind Eye Care Hospital, Madurai delivered
the “Founders’ Day lecture on “Aravind Model of Eye Care”. He wholeheartedly
praised the work done by the Advanced Eye Centre during the past so many years
He shared his long experience for more than 45 years for which he was
conferred upon the “Padamshree” by the Govt. of India.
On
this occasion Dr N D Lakhanpal Memorial lecture was delivered by Dr Ragini
Parekh, Prof & Head, JJ Medical College, Mumbai.
The
Continuing Medical Education programme also included eminent speakers like Dr
Atul Kumar, Dr B P Guliani, Dr Vimla Menon, Dr Tanuj Dada, Dr Anita Sethi, Dr
SPS Grewal, Dr Rajiv Gupta, Dr Ashok Kumar, Dr Kanwar Mohan.
